Senior Systems Engineer at Alpha.Jobs

Alpha.jobs, on behalf of its client and in cooperation with a licensed employment agency with license number 547, is looking for Senior Systems Engineer.

Salary:

• €32,000–36,000 yearly

Work arrangement:

• Based in Larnaca

Main duties:

• Own production Ubuntu and AlmaLinux environments, including web and mail services, hardening, firewalls, performance tuning and live troubleshooting.
• Design, migrate and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi, Proxmox and Hyper-V platforms, including storage, high availability and backup restoration.
• Lead TCP/IP, VLAN, routing and firewall design and diagnostics; pfSense and OpenVPN experience is valuable.
• Act as the escalation point during incidents, perform root-cause analysis and communicate clearly with internal teams and clients.
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation in line with information-security management practices.
• Review infrastructure changes, set technical standards and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements:

• At least five years of hands-on production experience across Linux, virtualisation and networking.
• Experience as an escalation point in hosting, managed services, datacentre or regulated B2B environments.
• Methodical, calm and independent troubleshooting under pressure.
• Ability to document and improve operational processes.
• Clear English communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• RHCE, VCP, CCNA or CCNP certification is advantageous.
