What You’ll Do:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Officer to join our Finance team. This role goes beyond day-to-day bookkeeping as the candidate will take ownership of more complex accounting areas, provide guidance to junior team members, and act as a key point of contact for auditors and other external partners. It is a great opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their technical accounting experience within a fast-paced, internationally regulated business.

What We’re Looking For:

•  Oversee and review the daily bookkeeping of supplier invoices, bank transactions and monthly customer invoicing performed by the wider accounting team, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and review complex monthly journal entries, including amortization, depreciation, and right-of-use asset entries, applying sound technical accounting judgment.
• Review weekly bank reconciliations and the weekly bank balances report, resolving discrepancies flagged by the team.
• Oversee supplier reconciliations, including sign-off prior to payment runs, and manage the year-end supplier reconciliation process end-to-end.
• Prepare and review month-end accounting reports, providing commentary and analysis to the Financial Reporting Manager and Financial Controller/Deputy CFO.
• Review the bi-monthly client funds reconciliation report, ensuring full compliance with client money rules.
• Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors and other business partners, coordinating information requests and resolving queries.
• Own the preparation and review of supporting schedules for VAT return submissions, liaising with tax advisors as needed.
• Support the Financial Reporting Manager and Financial Controller/Deputy CFO with statutory financial statement preparation and other technical reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance to more junior accounting staff when needed.
• Contribute to process improvements and strengthening of internal controls within the accounting function.
• Lead or support ad hoc projects and accounting-related requests as directed by the Financial Reporting Manager, the Financial Controller/Deputy CFO or at times by the CFO.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within an international or regulated financial services firm.
• Solid working knowledge of IFRS and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, spreadsheet modelling).
• Proven ability to review and guide the work of junior team members.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

 

Nice to Have

• Previous experience with Xero, Oracle or similar accounting/ERP systems.
• Prior experience in the forex/CFD brokerage or broader financial services industry.

Working Schedule:

Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00
