Alpha.jobs, on behalf of its client and in cooperation with a licensed employment agency with license number 547, is looking for Lead Java Developer – Payment Platform.

• €71,500–€88,200 per year

Main duties:

• Lead the design and development of secure, scalable payment APIs using Java 18–25 and Spring.
• Set architecture, coding and review standards for microservices, event-driven processing, caching and data access.
• Build services using PostgreSQL or MySQL, JPA, Redis, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Implement authentication and authorisation with JWT, OAuth or OpenID Connect and apply cryptography, signatures, hashing and encryption correctly.
• Apply OWASP guidance and threat modelling, assess technical feasibility and resolve production incidents and performance issues.
• Improve legacy components, automation, observability, testing and continuous delivery.
• Mentor engineers and introduce governed use of AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant discipline.
• Between 7 and 10 years of professional Java development experience with enterprise applications.
• Strong Java and Spring expertise, including distributed services, relational databases, caching and messaging.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Maven or Gradle, artifact repositories, CI/CD, Docker and cloud environments.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring ability.
• Payments or fintech experience is preferred.
