Role: Tax Manager

Location: Nicosia

On behalf of our client, an independent Consulting International Firm, we are currentlylooking to hire a Tax Manager to join and manage a dynamic team. A great opportunity for professionals who are looking to develop their managerial skills and aspire to become tax experts at a well-known local leading firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for spotting tax exposures, assisting clients with their concerns, staying current with tax developments, and managing the inferior team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the portfolio handling of our tax clients.
  • Offer high-level tax guidance and consulting services to clients,
  • Assist in the creation and reviewing of tax compliance documents.
  • Management, training, and development of the junior staff.
  • Acted as a staff mentor and supervisor regarding projects and other tasks.
  • Monitor, review, and assess the engagement/performance levels of the team.
  • Conduct year-end reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/economics/law/mathematics or any other related field from a reputable university.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified. Possession of an International Tax qualification will be considered an advantage.
  • 5 years of Tax experience – at least 1 year in a managerial role (or 2-3 as a supervisor/team leader).
  • Excellent knowledge of the Cyprus tax legislation.
  • Excellent knowledge of double tax treaty provisions, EU tax directives, and international tax trends, as well as the ability to research and comprehend the legislation governing direct taxes in Cyprus and other jurisdictions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent written and vocal use of the English language.
  • A powerful personality with the capacity to take the lead and find solutions.
  • Capability to supervise and mentor employees in a highly collaborative team setting.
  • Capability to multitask well, perform well under pressure, and finish assignments by the deadline.
  • IT literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
