Sous Chef at Thanos Hotels & Resorts
Job Role
- Supports the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and maintaining high culinary standards.
- Supervises staff, ensures food safety, and contributes to menu planning and execution.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus.
- Maintain the recipe library and plate specifications showed by the Executive Chef
- Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.
- Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
- Execute the Executive Chef’s recipes and techniques
- Flexibility with guest and Executive Chef’s special requests
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance.
- Be familiar with all levels of the culinary team
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and keep expenses within the given guidelines
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Be quality driven and critical of all aspects of the Food & Beverage operation to guarantee the highest level of creativity and productivity within the organization
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Degree in Culinary Arts or hospitality related qualification, will be considered as an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of Greek or any other language will be considered as an advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and cope under pressure
