Software Solutions Architect at eBOS

We are looking for an experienced full-time Software Solutions Architect to join and work at the premises of eBOS Technologies Ltd, a fast-growing SME with 21 years of presence, headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus.

As a member of our R&D team, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge through continuous training and guidance, to complete technical research tasks of existing and new projects (EU research or commercial).

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Solutions Architect to join our innovative team and lead the design and development of cutting-edge solutions. The ideal candidate must have >7 years of experience in software development and architecture design, particularly in multi-tier/layer architectures and play a key role in innovative R&D projects, ensuring solutions align with project business and technical requirements. Key responsibilities include translating business requirements into a detailed logical architecture, ensuring alignment with the project’s conceptual framework, designing the integration strategy, defining the implementation methodology and overseeing deployment. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary European teams on large-scale EU-funded R&D projects, contributing to impactful technological innovations that address complex societal, environmental and industrial challenges. 

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead innovative system architecture design by translating business requirements into a detailed logical architecture, ensuring alignment with the project’s conceptual framework, objectives and technical constraints.

· Lead systems integration, infrastructure design, and cloud-based solutions that are scalable and suitable for research applications and push the boundaries of technological innovation.

·  Work closely with cross-functional teams (academic, industrial, and governmental partners) across Europe, ensuring smooth coordination, communication, and collaboration across borders, to drive the successful execution of R&D project goals.

·  Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and platforms based on project requirements.

·  Support preparing technical documentation, reports, and deliverables required by EU funding agencies.

·  Provide guidance to the software development team during the implementation phase.

· Maintain alignment with the broader technical vision of EU-funded projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.

·        At least 7 years of experience in software development especially in software solution architecture design, and implementing industry best practices.

·        Proven track record in designing and leading enterprise-level software solutions from concept through to full deployment, with a focus on aligning technical solutions with business objectives.

·        Extensive expertise in microservices architecture, cloud technologies, distributed systems, and system integrations, with in-depth experience in containerization technologies, such as Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker, enabling scalable cloud-based applications.

·        Strong proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including .NET, Azure, and related frameworks, along with experience in modelling tools, relational DBMS, and NoSQL databases.

·        Solid understanding of message broker systems for asynchronous communication and reliable message delivery.

·        Thorough knowledge of interoperability technologies, including web services, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and event-driven architectures.

·        Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, demonstrated through successfully managing teams and delivering high-impact projects.

·        Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or other relevant industry certifications are highly desirable.

·        Advanced soft skills with technical leadership and ability to guide teams through complex architectural decisions and foster collaboration across departments and international teams and partners.

·        Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), to streamline deployment and operational efficiency.

·        Proficient in cloud-native architectures and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), with a strong understanding of modern deployment strategies, such as microservices and serverless.

·        Expertise in designing scalable and secure cloud-based infrastructures, optimizing performance, security, and cost management.

·        Problem-solving and decision-making: Ability to quickly assess complex technical challenges, propose solutions, and make critical decisions under pressure.

·        Cross-functional collaboration skills, enabling effective communication and alignment between technical teams, stakeholders, and non-technical partners.

·        Innovative mindset, with a strong focus on identifying and adopting emerging technologies and methodologies to continuously improve project outcomes.

·        Business acumen: Ability to align technical solutions with business strategies and goals, ensuring the delivery of high-value solutions.

·        Adaptability: Proven ability to learn and implement new technologies and adapt to rapidly changing environments and requirements.
