Alpha.jobs, on behalf of its client and in cooperation with a licensed employment agency with license number 547, is looking for Senior Database Administrator (DBA).

Main duties:

• Operate SQL Server environments across production, test, staging and development while protecting availability, security, performance and data integrity.
• Administer configurations, users, roles and permissions and maintain indexes, statistics, integrity checks and storage.
• Diagnose CPU, memory, I/O and latency issues through wait analysis, deadlock investigation, execution plans, T-SQL tuning and performance baselines.
• Own backup, restore, recovery-point and recovery-time controls, disaster-recovery testing and technologies such as Always On, clustering, log shipping, replication and mirroring.
• Plan database deployments, migrations, upgrades, change controls and rollback procedures.
• Manage capacity, storage and IOPS planning across on-premise and cloud database environments.
• Automate administration with PowerShell, Python or T-SQL and maintain monitoring, operational procedures and incident documentation.
• Support P1 and P2 incidents, architecture and data-model reviews, retention and archiving, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 5 years as a database administrator with strong SQL Server 2017, 2019 or 2022 experience.
• Advanced performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability and disaster-recovery expertise.
• Experience with Azure SQL or Azure virtual machines and AWS RDS or EC2 database deployments.
• Knowledge of monitoring platforms such as Redgate or SolarWinds and strong scripting ability.
• Understanding of least privilege, database security and audit requirements, with readiness to participate in on-call support.
• SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, database CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Liquibase, infrastructure as code or experience with other database engines is advantageous.
