Research Technical Assistant in Soil Erosion Monitoring at Alpha.Jobs

Alpha.jobs, on behalf of its client and in cooperation with a licensed employment agency with license number 547, is looking for Research Technical Assistant in Soil Erosion Monitoring.

Salary:

– €24,882.65 per year.

Employment type:

– Full-time appointment at 100% effort for 24 months, renewable subject to performance and funding.

Work arrangement:

– Based in Nicosia, with field and laboratory work, flexible working and remote-work provisions.

Main duties:

– Support monitoring of a one-square-kilometre runoff and sediment measurement area.

– Assist wind-erosion monitoring during the June–November field period.

– Carry out soil and vegetation surveys and laboratory work on collected samples.

– Use MWAC dust samplers and support soil, water and plant measurements.

– Maintain sensors, data loggers and field-monitoring equipment.

– Support drone-based observations and environmental data collection.

Requirements:

– Accredited professional qualification in Earth, Environmental or Agricultural Sciences or a relevant subject.

– Experience with field surveys involving soil, water or plants and with soil laboratory work.

– Analytical and organisational ability and a valid driving licence.

– Knowledge of wind and water erosion processes and equations is desirable.

– Experience with data loggers, environmental sensors, monitoring data or drones is an advantage.

– A relevant MSc is an advantage.
