The University of Limassol is seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join its Research Center as a Research Grants Development Officer.

The UoL Research Center is a central pillar of the University of Limassol, dedicated to supporting and advancing the university’s research mission. It provides comprehensive assistance to the research community, from identifying and securing funding opportunities to strengthening research impact. At the same time, it drives the university’s strategic goals for growth, social impact, and sustainability, with the aim of positioning the University of Limassol as a leading research institution in Cyprus and beyond.

The successful candidate will contribute directly to strengthening the University’s research standing, working alongside distinguished international partners and engaging with major funding programmes. The position offers significant opportunities for professional advancement, with career growth linked to demonstrated results and the impact of successful research grant applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess funding opportunities that support both faculty research and the University’s strategic priorities.
  • Support faculty and researchers in preparing competitive grant proposals.
  • Analyse funding calls, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment with University goals.
  • Coordinate proposal development, covering objectives, methodology, budgets, and evaluation criteria.
  • Write, edit, and refine high-quality proposals and supporting materials.
  • Manage multiple proposals concurrently, ensuring timely progress, compliance, and submission.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather input, resolve issues, and secure necessary approvals.
  • Build strong relationships with funding bodies and represent the University effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records, track submissions, and prepare reports on grant activities.
  • Strengthen the Research Center’s competitiveness in securing external research funding.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in grant writing, proposal development, or research administration.
  • Strong knowledge of research funding mechanisms (e.g., Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, other national or international funding programs).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, compliance requirements, and funding regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); knowledge of Greek is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Proactive, result-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired qualities

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align funding opportunities to institutional priorities.
  • Prior experience with working with researchers and diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
  • PhD degree will be considered an advantage.
