The University of Limassol is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Officer to join our dynamic team. 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support across both general IT infrastructure and the operations of the Distance Learning Unit (DLU). You will play a key role in troubleshooting issues, supporting end-users, maintaining accurate asset records, and ensuring smooth operation of digital learning platforms. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  •  Administer and support the Moodle (LMS). 
  • Manage and maintain Windows and/or Linux operating systems, ensuring stability, security, and performance. 
  • Provide administration and technical support for Microsoft 365 (O365), including user accounts, licensing, and services. 
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure services for identity management, virtual machines, and cloud storage as part of IT operations and infrastructure. 
  • Apply basic networking knowledge to troubleshoot and manage network components such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS. 
  • Leverage scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to improve system efficiency and streamline repetitive tasks. 
  • Implement and adhere to cybersecurity best practices to protect organizational data and systems. 
  • Analyse and resolve technical issues using strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  •  Work independently to manage tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. 
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment, contributing to shared goals and cross-functional initiatives. 
  • Stay up to date with evolving technologies and quickly adapt to new tools, platforms, and methodologies. 

Qualifications  

  • University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role, demonstrating hands-on expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. 
  • Certifications: CCNA, MCSA, or similar certifications would be considered an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems is advantageous. 
  • Understanding of industry-specific data formats and communication protocols is a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Greek.
