EARLY YEARS ADMINISTRATOR

Location: Episkopi

Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment until 31/12/2026

Grade: Local Administrative Officer (LAO)

Salary: €22,089 per annum, plus Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Closing Date: 19th October 2025 (Midnight, Local Cyprus Time)


Eligibility

Essential Criteria

  1. Must undergo and pass security and police checks.
  2. Must provide a Clean Criminal Record and Sex Offenders Certificate issued by the Republic of Cyprus.
  3. Must pass an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (applicable only if lived in the UK for the last 5 years).
  4. IOSH Managing Safely – to be obtained on the job.
  5. MoD Financial Skills Certificate – to be obtained on the job.
  6. Financial management experience.
  7. Proven organisational experience.
  8. Proven experience of partnership working with outside agencies and professionals.
  9. Valid driving licence.
  10. Effective time and resource management skills.
  11. Understanding and commitment to Equality of Opportunity principles.
  12. Experience using PC-based databases and spreadsheets.
  13. Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  14. Must provide references if successful.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Knowledge of current Ofsted, EYFS and safeguarding standards (2015–2024).
  2. Positive, flexible and reflective approach to work.

Official Language

The official language of the Sovereign Base Areas is English.

Role Summary

The Early Years Administrator supports the Setting Manager in delivering high-quality early years education through efficient management of finance, HR, procurement, health and safety (SHEF), and safeguarding processes.

This includes ensuring compliance with MoD and DCS policies, effective resource use, and a safe learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic financial management, forecasting, procurement, and reporting.
  • Compliance with SHEF and safety audits.
  • HR planning, payroll management, and staff administration.
  • Safeguarding oversight and maintaining accurate child protection records.
  • Supporting recruitment, training, and compliance within early years frameworks.
