The Assistant Storekeeper supports the smooth and compliant operation of hotel storerooms by assisting in receiving, labelling, storing, and issuing goods in accordance with inventory procedures and hygiene standards. Reporting to the Head Storekeeper, the role ensures timely inventory updates, maintains well-organized storage areas, and actively contributes to stock rotation and control.

Key Responsibilities
- Assists in receiving all incoming goods by checking quantities, packaging, and basic quality against the delivery note and purchase order, under the guidance of the Head Storekeeper.
- Reports any discrepancies, damages, or shortages in received items to the Head Storekeeper immediately.
- Assists in preparing goods for return in case of incorrect or damaged deliveries, under direction.
- Participates in the unloading and sorting of deliveries while adhering to safety practices and manual handling guidelines.
- Ensures items are properly labelled and safely stored in designated areas according to storage guidelines and hotel hygiene standards.
- Follows established FIFO (First-In-First-Out) rotation principles to minimize waste and preserve product quality.
- Monitors shelf life and expiry dates of perishable items, promptly reporting any concerns to the Head Storekeeper.
- Supports in updating inventory systems accurately and timely for all receipts, transfers, and issuances.
- Prepares and organizes requisitioned goods for departments based on approved internal requests.
- Supports in routine stock checks and monthly inventory counts as instructed, ensuring accuracy and completeness of physical stock.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in inventory, purchasing, or storeroom operations within a hotel or similar environment.
- Good working knowledge of procurement systems.
- Knowledge of FIFO, HACCP, and hygiene compliance protocols.
- Very good command of the Greek and English language, both written and spoken.
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to guest satisfaction.
