Alpha.jobs, on behalf of its client and in cooperation with a licensed employment agency with license number 547, is looking for Assistant Scientist – Mechanical/Marine Engineer.
Salary:
– €25,286–43,047 yearly.
Employment type:
– Full-time, fixed-term.
Work arrangement:
– On-site, with flexible arrangements where applicable.
Main duties:
– Support research, innovation and industry projects in marine technology.
– Design, model, test and assess mechanical, marine and energy systems.
– Work with marine engines, generator sets, alternative fuels, emissions measurement and performance data.
– Apply CAD, CFD, engineering analysis and digital-modelling methods.
– Integrate sensors, data-acquisition systems and IoT platforms into experiments and monitoring activities.
– Analyse technical data and contribute to reports, publications, presentations and project deliverables.
– Track suitable European, national and international funding and tender opportunities.
– Help turn technical concepts into objectives, methods, work packages, tasks, deliverables and impact plans.
– Support partner identification, consortium development and technical proposal writing.
– Coordinate input from researchers, engineers and external partners and check compliance with call requirements.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or a closely related technical or scientific discipline.
– Relevant experience with at least one of CAD/CFD, Python, MATLAB, marine or energy systems, alternative fuels, emissions, sensors, IoT, digital twins or experimental data analysis.
– Excellent written and spoken English.
– Ability to communicate technical concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
– Strong analytical, organisational, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to manage several priorities and meet deadlines.
– Proposal-development experience, successful funding applications, postgraduate study or publications are advantages.
– Eligibility to work in Cyprus is an advantage.
