Job Position: Assistant Golf Mechanic

 

 

Working for: Aphrodite Hills Resort – Golf Division

Reporting to: Head Mechanic and Golf Course Superintendent

Location: Aphrodite Hills Resort, Paphos

 

Job Summary: 

This role’s purpose is to support the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery used on the golf course, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation. The Assistant Golf Mechanic will work closely with the Head Mechanic and other grounds staff to ensure that the golf course equipment remains in top working condition for the daily operation and overall aesthetic of the course.

 

 Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the daily maintenance of all golf course machinery, including but not limited to lawnmowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and other specialised turf equipment.

Repairs and Troubleshooting: Respond to mechanical issues during the day by diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and ensuring that equipment is back in service as quickly as possible.

Routine Inspections: Conduct daily inspections of all golf course equipment to identify signs of wear and tear and ensure it operates safely and effectively.

Fuel and Lubrication: Monitor and maintain all equipment’s proper fuel levels, oil changes, and lubrication schedules.

Work Orders: Assist in processing work orders for equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely follow-up and completion of tasks.

Record Keeping: Ensure daily records of maintenance and repairs are accurately logged using the Ground 2 Control system.

Staff Training: Assist in training using the Train the Trainer methods and following Aphrodite Hills training documents.

Record Keeping with Ground 2 Control: Assist in compiling and updating detailed records of fuel, equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs using the Ground 2 Control system. Ensure that all relevant data is inputted accurately and on time.

Inventory Management: Help track parts and supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained for regular maintenance and repairs.

Preventative Maintenance Scheduling: Work with the Head Mechanic to ensure that all equipment receives scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations and best practices.

Reporting: Help prepare monthly reports on equipment status, repair histories, and maintenance trends.

 

Requirements and Qualifications: 

⁃High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in mechanical repair preferred.

⁃At least 1-2 years of experience working with small engines, golf course equipment, or related mechanical fields.

⁃Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and power tools.

⁃Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

⁃Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

⁃ Ability to work in outdoor conditions and perform physical tasks.

⁃Excellent verbal communication skills in English language

⁃Driving License

⁃Eu citizen or an EU work permit holder

 

Schedule: 

⁃Monday-Friday (06:00-14:45)

⁃Every third weekend (4 hours Saturday and 4 hours Sunday)/Entitlement to an additional day off during the following week after your weekend shift.
