Job Description A well-established Shipping Company based in Athens is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Officer to join its Marine Department, supporting the safe and efficient operation of its Dry Cargo fleet.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring vessel operations, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, and maintaining high standards of safety, operational efficiency, and performance.
Key Responsibilities Monitor and support the safe and efficient operation of Dry Cargo vessels.
Ensure compliance with ISM Code, ISPS Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and applicable maritime regulations.
Conduct vessel inspections, internal audits, and onboard assessments.
Monitor vessel performance and ensure adherence to company safety and operational procedures.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
Investigate marine incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Provide technical and operational guidance to Masters and vessel crews.
Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure smooth fleet operations.
Assist with preparations for Flag State, Port State Control, and third-party inspections.
