About the job Based at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino within the Housekeeping Department in Pylos, Messenia, Greece, the Houseman (Καθαριστής Δωματίων) assists in maintaining cleanliness of the resort areas, to ensure a tidy and without a trace of garbage environment.
The Houseman (Καθαριστής Δωματίων) reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
As Houseman (Καθαριστής Δωματίων), you will be responsible for the following duties: Clean carpets and upholstery using a vacuum cleaner and/or a special washing machine.
Clean rooms, corridors and bathrooms.
Wash walls and ceilings, transporting furniture and turning mattresses.
Wipe, mop, sand, wax and polish floors.
Dust and polish metal surfaces and objects.
Collect linen for the washing machine from the trolleys of the department.
Receive linen from the washing machine and store them in the linen closet with order and organization.
Maintain inventory of supplies.
Change linen from the beds when requested by the Room Attendants.
Remove garbage collected by the Room Attendants.
Check regularly areas and corridors during the day for garbage collection, used linen or other items requested by the department’s management.
Transfer clean linen to the warehouse of the Housekeeping department and replenish linen based on needs.
Replenish supplies in each storage area of the department.
Assist maids with weights and special cleaning work.
Clean common areas according to the procedures set by the department.
Remove used linen and garbage from the pool area.
Assist the department by placing bedboards, folding beds, extra beds, etc. according to the procedures set by the department.
Report lost items and those found.
Report damaged or problematic items to department managers.
